About Us

The day I saw my very first Malamute, I fell in love with him and knew I had found the only breed for me. Five months later I was offered this dog and have never looked back. "Dino" (his previous owners had children that loved the "Flintstones") introduced me into the world of dog sledding, weight-pulling, obedience, and showing. He was truly a very versatile and magnificent dog, but not without some very frustrating traits. "Dino" was just over a year of age when he came to live with me and he taught me that nothing is sacred to a Malamute (if it can be eaten, it will be), selective hearing is hereditary (were you talking to me?) and if they can dominate you, they will! I honestly think "Dino" read the Malamute standard and decided he should live up to the traits that "CAN" be known to Mals. Once we conquered obedience and I became the "ALPHA" dog, "Dino" became a wonderful family pet. To this day, I don't wish another dog like that on anyone. What a learning experience! That was TWENTY years ago and I'm still at it!

We are currently owned by seven wonderful dogs; Tyson, Tyra, Mack,  Makenna, Synyka, Ryval and Blaze.  I dedicate this site to them. Thanks for never complaining when your "Mom" was spending too much time on the computer!

There is also someone else I need to introduce and that is my "partner in crime"; Troy. Troy didn't really know what he was getting himself into when he met me, but he sure found out in a hurry. He has adjusted well and even enjoys sledding and obedience - we're still working on the "show ring thing". I believe he now truly understands the attraction and devotion I have towards these magnificent dogs since his little "Tyra" came to live with us and stole his heart. Seeing these two together makes it all worth while.

Thank you for allowing me to share my Winterchill Alaskan Malamutes with you.
